GIS has changed + Modern GIS resources

In June I saw this LinkedIn post widely shared and thought it would be useful to keep it here. You can check the post directly, or otherwise below you have the resources it references.

Resource 1: Core Concepts of a Modern GIS: It’s All About the Web.

This is a very relevant post for GIS professionals or educators, one to review every now and then. Also very descriptive is the image/diagram in the post.

Resource 2: Modern GIS in Higher Education, From Desktop GIS to Web GIS

This is an Esri landing page describing what modern GIS is about and also pointing to some other interesting Esri resources.

Resource 3: Modern GIS, An ArcGIS tutorial collection

This is an ArcGIS Hub from the Esri Learning team where to find different resources to get introduced into Modern GIS.

Additionally, from a different perspective (non-Esri) it is also interesting to review the following Modern GIS resources as well:

Resource 4: What is Modern GIS?

This is a post from Matt Forrest, a well-known figure in the geospatial sector and very active on LinkedIn. Matt publishes GIS/geospatial content on his website and on his Substrack ‘Modern GIS’ blog.

If I find new resources worth sharing, I will continue to add them…
